Batam, Indonesia インドネシア・バタン島

With my new awesome friends from India that I have met in Singapore like two month ago, I went to Batam in Indonesia. 

It was a birthday of my friend. 

I was hearing a lot about Batam in many ways from people in Singapore. 

They are all like "Do not expect that much before you go there lol " so literally we went there with no expectation and was kinda ready not to get disappointed with some unexpected situations lol 

For us, it was pretty fun. This is because we are the good girl friend whoever can keep talking for hours and hours. 

　

インドネシア、バタム島いってきました。

友達の誕生日だったから、それもかねて、一緒に行こうということになって。

シンガポールでしりあった、インド人二人。

私よりもだいぶお姉さんだけど、すっごく話と気があって、大好きな二人組みです。

バタム島はほんとになにもないから、期待しないほうがいいよって言われ続けて、一週間。

かなり心を整えていったので、別に予想外でがーんとかいうこともなく、落胆もなく、２日があっというまに終わっちゃったよ！

すっごいたのしかった。

Inside ferry to go to batam. It was pretty much like seat in trains. 

I just past out after getting on ferry. 

Last night I couldn't sleep well and wake up so early like a kid who can't wait for school trip. lol

フェリーに入ったらものみごとに爆睡。。

遠足待ちで眠れない子供みたいに昨日は寝られなかったし、朝も早くから起きていそがしくいろいろしてたら、フェリーはさすがに眠かった。

酔うことなんかすっかりわすれて寝てました笑

そう、これが。

In my opinion (our opinion), this is pretty good place for massage and shopping with girl friends. I don't recommend any couples to go there together. It can't be romantic or anything. 

Just an gateaway from pokerface country Singapore. 

Because we love talking and shopping, I think we didn't really get disappointed or anything like other people had been telling us. 

It was quite fun that I was thinking. 

女友達といったから楽しいわけで、これはカップルでいくとむりがあるかなって感じたけどね。

ロマンティックでもなにもないから。

マッサージと、買い物しかすることないし。あと食べる！笑

The first food we got was pretty small portion and I got a welcome celebration by freeeeeaaaakin spicy food by Batam Indonesia.

Even the two friend from "the spicy food country" India was saying "spicy!", how the hell I can eat that. I was like licking a drop of sauce and seriously thought need two bottle of water. 

yes, indonesians are pretty crazy for spicy food. maybe I'm in the wrong place lol

マジ死ぬかと思ったくらい、これこそ、口から火が出るを通り越して、

ペットボトルの水が２本いるってくらいのド辛さ。

からすぎーもはや味なんて二の次で、とりあえず飯たべろ、ご飯のみこめでたいへんだった笑

インドネシア人おそるべし。

辛いもの大国インド人の友達二人も、さすがにからそうに食べてました。

私はもうちょこっとなめただけで死んでたのに、やはり、彼女たちやるー。

ちゃんとたいらげてくれた。

We started going around the mall....

ショッピングモールをうろうろと・・・・

見えるこの、在庫の量。

もうおくところなくって、店中においてある。

赤いゴミ袋、すべて服が入ってて、ハンガーにかけてある服の下にもまた服・・・・・さすが、ここで製造してるだけあるわ。

Look this a number of stocks of clothes...... what lol 

it's crazy, 

they couldn't put those stock back to their shelf ( I don't know if they have shelf even....), so those of all stocks are spreading around the shop.

You see the red plastic bag and a number of stock under the clothes hanged. oh....  

Mall is 3 flors high. 

was pretty enough to go around by two days.

二日でまわるのにちょうどいいサイズのショッピングモール。

そして、やっぱり変な日本語をみつけた。

And Of course, I keep finding weird japanese. 

In Asian countries, especially SE Asian countries, I think they tend to put a lot of Japanese characters to show the product as if it's "made in japan" or "Japanese brand"..... 

I don't even have to explain in japanese but for people who don't understand this, I can explain it....

this is pretty wrong japanese. 

it says Toumorokoshi which means corns.

Here, it correct ./...... the problem is below...

It's probably supposed to say

The vege shake I got two days in a row. 

Avocado shake with red beans. 

so so so so sooo good.

テリマカシー（インドネシアの言葉でありがとうの意味）いうてとってもらったーい。

Not KFC... but BFC and later my friend figured out that it's because Batam's Fried Chicken...??
I think this is not related to KFC AT ALL. The old white guy was no where in this store. lol

ＫＦＣならず、ＢＦＣ。
後で友達が気づいたんだけど、バタム島のケンタなので、こうなったんだ！
そういえば、あお白髪のおじいさんいなかったもん。

--------------２日目--------

I think we stayed pretty good hotel in Batam. 

The break fast in hotel was pretty awesome. It fully filled us up and we were fine not to eat untill 3-4 pm after the huge amount of buffet breakfast @ 9am. 

ちょっといいホテルに泊まったので、なかなかいい朝食を堪能。

おいしかったーん。

食べ放題ってだめだよね。９５％くらい　おなかいっぱいになったので、大満足で４時くらいまでおなかすかなかった。笑

たべすぎやっちゅう。

This was the first time seeing a guy selling a BIRD by motor bike.... I wonder how many people actually stop him...... :O 

鳥をバイクで売っている人発見。。。。。・

え？本当ですか笑

Later we went to manicure and pedicure salon. 

They had TV and let me choose DVD. 

I had never expected to watch HANGOVER in Indonesia...LOL

そのあといったマニキュアのサロンで、

ＤＶＤを選んでといわれて、やったやったーで選んでると、まさかの映画を発見

ＨＡＮＧＯＶＥＲをみてましたー♪

Batam was pretty good gate away. I think I can go again but next time, I don't have to stay one night lol 

This time, it was also pretty good personally because I was really tired of pokerfaces in Singapore especially in service industry. 

People in Indonesia has at least hospitality still and understand the "negotiation" lol

I would never see that much smile in service industry in Singapore. 

Personally, I think they really keep distance each other in Singapore and kinda forgot how to smile and show the emotions to others whom you don't really know. 

They try to be cool? I don't know. But the smiles I get and happy feeling in Indonesia kinda relaxed me. 

In terms of work condition, of course, Singapore is nice place to work at the level of comfortable, easy access, and opportunities. 

but sometimes, I miss being emotional and sharing some laugh with some stranger like I used to in Mexico and the U.S. (Not Japan, unfortunately) 

By traveling to other countries, I think I keep balance. 

But definitely, this trip also made me decide to go out of this country after certain amount of years. For now, I need experience in my career and want to work.

But Someday...I'm going to one place that I have longer to go. I decided.

バタムはとても楽しかったし、リラックスできた、時間でした。

またいくときは一日いれば大丈夫かな。笑すべてしたいことは一日でできるね。もう大体どういうところかわかったし。

シンガポールでこのごろ特に特に気になっていたこと。

シンガポール人は笑わない・・・？

あまり感情というものを共有しないのか、特に顧客サービス、一番笑顔が必要であろうところで、笑顔があまりにないこの国に私はかなりの不満を抱いていた。。。

個人的には、シンガポール人があまり感情や笑顔を共有しないのは、

１・それがかっこいいと思っている

２・かなり、物質主義の人が多いから（物質主義とは、人の心や成長ではなく、お金や所有しているモノに価値をおく主義をもっているひとたちのこと。特にシンガポール人は、車、やデザインハウスがだいすきなひとたち、彼らはアメリカのようになりたいなりたいとおもっているのか、借金してまで、（この小さい国で）車を持っている人がちょーおおい。物欲が強いのは、先進国にのし上がっているこの国で特に強い傾向。私はここがアメリカのいやなところだった。地球の反対側に来てもまだ、こういう物欲主義のつよい国にくるとは、私もさてはて、運命とはと疑問に思うよ。それはさておき、そういうことだから、彼らは要はものは売れればいいとおもっている。彼らが笑わなくても売れるものは売れていくといったふうにおもっている傾向がある。のと、安いところではそこまで教育をしっかりしないというか、そこまで情熱をもってないからこういうサービス形態ができあがる。のだと思う。

３．人にどう見られるかを気にしすぎて、笑うこと、正直に感情を表すことをわすれちゃったのか。・・。

私の個人的な意見ではこの笑わない、ポーカーフェースの傾向は中国系シンガポール人におおい。

単に働きすぎなんかなとか思うけど、やっぱりそれは私がいつも日常的に引っかかっていることろだった。

今回の旅を通して思ったのは、私はインドネシアほど、ゆっくり時間が流れる場所にはいたくはないけど、シンガポールほどの時間の流れの速い場所で、生きたいとは思っているけど、感情を表すことって、私にとっては結構大切なことなんだと感じた。

だから、この国にはま、そこまで長くいれないかなって。

やっぱり自分がいたい国は笑顔で知らない人と、道であった人と話せる国。そういう国に住みたい。

シンガポールは働きやすくて、大好き。

でも、それだけじゃない、人生。

私が私で居られるところが一番いいんだ。

もう行かなきゃ行けないところはわかってる。

あと２年したら絶対行くんだって、自分に言い聞かせるいい機会になった。

絶対いってやる、まってろメキシコ。
